Yigal Adato: 00:03 Hey everyone, my name is Yigal Adato and this is the Pawn Leaders Podcast, a podcast to help you make more money, stress less, and live an epic life all while working at the pawn shop.

Yigal Adato: 00:23 Hey pawn family welcome back to another episode of five minute Friday. If you hear all the noise, it's because I'm at the airport flying to the Dixie convention. I'm super excited to speak about leadership to different pawnbrokers and actually meet people from that area. I've never been there, so it's going to be exciting. Today's show is about learning and the fact that leaders need to continuously learn. You know, I was at a point in my life where I thought everything was okay and it wasn't, and when I realized that I knew I had to start learning something different. So, I started taking courses. I started reading books, I started watching videos on YouTube and even buying courses to teach myself how to be a better marketer, strategists, leader, husband, father, you name it. Because if you just sit there and you don't do anything, then what's going to happen is you're not going to move forward.

Yigal Adato: 01:18 You actually get to move backward and you're gonna be left behind. The people who are actually learning, reading and putting into play what they need to make their business and life successful. Some of the books I've read, like the Four Agreements changed my life. I learned things in there that people don't usually talk about. I might know it for sure, but I was able to really put it into play and it changed my business for the better and made me a much better leader. And the other thing I did was I joined the Mastermind group, a group of like-minded individuals who kept me accountable and didn't let me deal with the bullshit in my head as was, didn't allow me to just sink to a level where I didn't want to be. And every week I got on a call. And every week we've worked on my business,

Yigal Adato: 02:43 we worked on my life, we worked on my health, and it changed my life. And so, I don't know if you know, but I run something called the Pawn Leaders Mastermind. And this is exactly what we do, we continue to learn every single week and every single day to improve who we are. It's so important to educate yourself because the business world around us is changing drastically all the time. From Facebook to YouTube to business strategies to different things that you can implement it in your stores when it comes to culture to be able to improve your operation. But if you're not reading, if you're continuously just at the counter doing pawns and doing buys and sales you might be missing out on learning how to improve where you are. So listen, I know it's tough. I know you're thinking, I work all day Long Yigal and I just want to get home and be with my husband,my wife, my partner, my kids, whatever that is.

Yigal Adato: 03:19 And I understand it. I was there, but I want you to know something. Leaders make time. I wake up at five o'clock in the morning before my family wakes up at seven so I can go to the gym, I can read, I can meditate, I can do what I need to do so that I'm a better person. I can run a better business and I can be a better father and a husband at the same time. So there's no excuses either wake up earlier, get to bed a little bit later. Do what you have to do because those who do what they have to do, get what they want and I know that you want to grow your stores. I know that you want to have a better culture, become a better leader, but it's not going to happen unless you make it happen. Nobody can do it for you.

Yigal Adato: 04:07 Doesn't matter how many consultants you hire, how many coaches you hire. You can get reports, you can get tactics, but if you don't put it into play, it's not going to happen. So, it's not just about learning, right? The first part is to learn. The second part is to implement. So many people watch videos about people like Gary Vaynerchuk and you know, different people in our world as well. We don't implement anything, but if you don't implement it, there's no point of wasting your time to learn it. So read a book and then implement one thing from the book. Watch a video, implement one thing from that. Because implementation is the key. So with that, I'm going to leave you guys remember, leaders learn, they read, they study, and not just that, but they actually implement and then just talk about ideas, but they make the ideas happen. So, have an incredible weekend. If you're at the Dixie convention, come out and say hi. And if you're not going to local conventions, do it. That's a place where you're going to learn. You're going to meet people who will teach you, as well as you will be able to just have conversations with other pawnbrokers who are ahead of the game and they'll show you and they'll teach you as long as you ask the right questions. So have an incredible day, have a incredible weekend, and remember, I'll see you in the Pawn Leaders Podcasts Community on Facebook, thanks for listening.
