Yigal Adato: 00:23 Hey pawn family, welcome back to another episode of Five Minute Friday. And today I'm going to talk about something that's extremely important because I care about all of you. I was talking with a client the other day and I always ask this question, when was the last time you went to the doctor? And the answer was eight years. Ladies and gentlemen, in order for you to run a successful company, in order for you to be right mind and focused, you need to be healthy. You need to go to the doctor, get a checkup, get bloodwork done, make sure everything's okay. Say, you're not worrying about any of that stuff. Your family's not worrying about any of that stuff and your employees aren't worrying about any of that stuff. See, we're in business to have freedom. We're in business to make money, to be able to enjoy the rest of our lives. In order to do that, we need to take care of our mind and our body, and it's what I talk about in my speeches when I go to these pawn conventions. It's condition, the condition of your mind and your body.
Yigal Adato: 01:31 Lot of people don't think about what they're eating. A lot of people don't think about what they're drinking. They're smoking habits, their drinking habits, but all of these things are going to hinder or stop your production.
Yigal Adato: 01:46 They're going to stop the way that you get to work, they're going to stop the way that you get out of bed. They're going to stop you from getting a good night's sleep and all because you want that instant gratification right now, today. What I want you to consider is how much better would life be if you were working on your health. How much better would life be if you just started to walk every day for 15 minutes? How much better would your life be if you ate a little more healthy? How much better would you be if you went to the doctor and found out what was actually going on if you're not feeling okay.
Yigal Adato: 02:29 How much longer would you able to last for your family? And I say this out of, obviously out of my experience with my father, nine stores, 12 stores that were in point, millions in pawn and he was diagnosed with Parkinson's and dementia. So, you never know what's going to happen in your life. You never know when something's going to happen. You never know if you're going to get sick. So we need to enjoy the moment. We need to stay as healthy as possible, so we can produce more for our family, more for our lives and more for our business. Now I've traveled the nation speaking with pawnbrokers and I have to admit something. Those who are successful both in family and in business are taking care of their health. Now this is most of the time, I don't want to generalize and those who are taking care of their health are able to see this as well. And I had some people walk up to me at one of the conventions and say Yigal, I got to stop drinking, I'm drinking way too much. Hey Yigal, I gotta Stop Smoking, I'm smoking way too much. So it's not like you don't know what needs to change. You know what needs to change and you know what needs to be done to change it. See, this podcast isn't just about growing your business. Leadership isn't just about growing a team.
Yigal Adato: 04:02 Leadership is about leading the best life possible. It's about leading the best marriage possible. It's about being the best parent possible and the best boss possible and all that encompasses leadership. So it's not just about, your pawn balance, your sales, your yields, and all these numbers.
Yigal Adato: 04:27 It's also about how you feel in your body. It's about your health. It's about when you look at yourself in the mirror and say, can I do better? Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not talking about a six pack beach body. I'm just talking about doing something a little bit more than you're doing today and the walking, walking your dog. It can be taken a walk with your spouse, can be running. It can be doing some pushups in some situps in the store when there's no customers right? See, there's always a time when there's no customers. You get down and you do 10 pushups, couple of squats, and you've moved for the day. Because that's true health. And I want the best for my pawn family. And every time I see pawnbrokers who are overweight, who are healthy, who complain about their drinking or their smoking it makes me want to do something about it. And this is what this podcast is about and what this Five Minute Friday episode is about. Yigal Adato: 05:45 I challenge you look at yourself in the mirror and admit what that is. Do you need to get to the gym? Do you need to go for a walk? Do you to cut down on those Krispy Kreme donuts? Do you need to stop smoking? And when you're thinking about it, think about your family, think about your love ones and what they need from you as you grow old. And the fact that they want you to be around. One of my clients just kept on saying, Yigal I don't have a motivation to go to the gym. And within the conversation, we got down to him wanting to be able to play baseball with his grandkids. If you want to be around for your grandkids, start looking at your health and do something about it. If you want to be there for the marriage of your kids and your grandkids and to be there as healthy as possible, start looking at your health. Hit the gym, eat a little healthier and be mindful of those things. And with that, I'll let you go.
