Yigal Adato: 00:23 Hey Pawn family, welcome back to another five minute Friday. And today's going to be an interesting show because I was just watching a movie with my wife and it's the greatest showman. It's actually kind of more of a musical. And for those of you who don't know, before I got into the pawn business, I was in a band, I was a singer and I was a broke singer. Let's get this straight. I didn't make a lot of money doing it, but I love doing, I love being on stage, I love singing. My band opened a Woodstock 99 we played for some very big bands back in the day and I just, I was passionate about it. I loved every single moment about it. And watching this movie, it reminded me how much fun I used to have being on stage, singing, performing, and how much I miss it and how much fun those performances would be for me.

Yigal Adato: 01:15 And I would wait for them every single week I'd prepare for them. And it just really, it was a, it was a part of who I was and a part of what I did, and I remember back about six months ago, I was working with a client and I ask this question. I said, hey men, don't forget to have fun this weekend. What are you going to do? And his answer, Yigal, I don't have fun. I just paused for a second and I remembered, you know how much I had stopped having fun and how serious I had gotten about life and about leadership and I have to be the serious coach and mentor. When I watched this movie with my wife, I realized that I need to start having more fun because fun is leadership. People want to see their leaders smile. People want to see their leaders walking with great energy into the room as opposed to being sad and upset, down and stressed out. So I want you guys to think about what did you used to do that would make you smile or what makes you have fun? What could you do this weekend to have fun with your family and to put a smile on your face, maybe there's something that you haven't done before. You see, for me it's singing. So I actually called up a singing coach and I decided to go back and take some singing classes. What could you do? What, what could you take on? Maybe golfing, painting, writing, shooting, whatever it is that you have a passion for and that would be fun for you. I want you to, I want to challenge you to take that up again. Maybe call a friend who, who's really good at it, who would take you with him? Go with your wife, your husband, your boyfriend, girlfriend, your family. Well, you guys would have fun doing it all together and just remember that leadership isn't all about being serious and owning a pawn shop isn't about being serious all the time. It's

about having fun. So many of the of the people in the podcast that I've interviewed, had always telling me afterward, Yigal, I have so much fun being in the pawn business and, and the pawn business affords me the ability to go out there and have fun with my family and to do what I love may be sailing, may it be shooting, maybe dancing, whatever that is. But just remember, we work and we should be having fun as well.

Yigal Adato: 04:15 So again, I challenge you, I challenge you to think about having fun this weekend or to even think about something that you used to do that you used to call from, like it was singing to me and hire a coach or hire a mentor or somebody that's in that area that can help you become masterful at it again. You know, I gave a speech at the Dixie Convention and I could tell that some of the people just sat there with their arms crossed and didn't smile. Like if they were afraid to, to crack a smile, it would change their life. They wouldn't be as successful if they didn't crack a smile and have fun. So have fun because I don't just want you to have more profit, more power, more peace. I don't want you to just to make more and stress less, a part of living that epic life that we Pawn Leaders live, is about having fun with the people around us. It's to be able to have fun at the shop with our team members. But most importantly take on that activity that makes you smile. So you can look back after a hard week of working and know that there's a reason that you're doing this and live.
